Yoga & Pilates Breaks

We’ve chosen some of the best months to be in Spain for our Yoga & Pilates retreats.  The weather is gloriously warm and sunny and there’s plenty of space on the beach & town to explore, relax and just be. Bliss.

Yoga and Pilates are the perfect combination.  When practiced together these two fantastic disciplines will not only tone & sculpt your body but will improve your posture, balance, coordination, flexibility and help rebalance and realign your skeletal system.  You’ll notice a rapid improvement in how you feel and stand by the end of your stay.

And, if the daily classes of yoga & pilates are not enough, there’ll also be workshops to help you get even more out of your practice, a guided meditation session plus, opportunity to dip into our programme of optional gentle & energizing activities whilst Chef nourishes your body with super delicious healthy food.  Sounds like the perfect ‘feel good’ healthy retreat?   Then come & join us!

Our Yoga & Pilates retreats take place in the coastal town of Altea, an hour north ofAltea Yoga Holidays

Alicante airport (transfers available, see below).   Altea is a lovely Spanish town, considered to be one of the prettiest in this region.  Sheltered by coast hugging mountains that tumble to the sea and the beautiful azure Mediterranean sea that skirts along the Altea coast.  The weather here is really mild and sunny all year.

You will be staying near to the ‘old town’ of Altea – the historical heart of the town – with it’s breath-taking views out across the bay, white washed houses, cobbled streets and delicious selection of tapas bars, artisan studios and boutiques.    This really is the perfect location for a your retreat!


Our base is a 300 year old Olive Farm that has been converted into a 4-star country house hotel with 20 spacious double rooms, an outdoor pool, sauna, small gym, restaurant and lovely yoga studio.

The hotel sits at the very point where the edge of the countryside meets the edge of town & so we have the most amazing views to the mountains & the sea and yet we’re an easy 10 minute walk to the ‘old town’ .. the original heart of Altea considered to be one of  the prettiest villages here on the coast .. and 25 minutes walk to the sea.

The 22 double bedrooms are superbly equipped with satellite TV, telephone, heating, air-con, safety deposit, free WiFi, hairdryer, fluffy towelling robes and complimentary toiletries.   There’s also an outdoor pool, small gym, sauna, indoor yoga space and an excellent kitchen that creates delicious vegetarian & fish dishes for us whilst the lovely hotel owner – Vincenta – brings fresh eggs from her hens and bakes a fresh cake each morning to add to the fantastic buffet breakfast spread. Yum!

“I liked the relaxed family atmosphere of the hotel .. professional without being in your face.  The bedrooms were of a good size & it was nice to have a balcony to see the sun rise.  Good location for the local amenities but nice and quiet too.  This is the first place in Spain I’ve been to that makes a real effort to create interesting and tasty vegetarian dishes. I would recommend this hotel to other travellers.” 

The Yoga & Pilates Sessions

Pilates Holiday classYou will taught by super experienced senior teachers who specialise in either Yoga or Pilates.  This ensures the integrity of both is maintained and you experience and understand the ancient wisdom & vitality secrets of Yoga and the proficient structured movements of Pilates.

There will be a beginners and intermediate/advanced classes to ensure you work at a pace that is suitable for you rather than feel ‘held back’ in a beginners class or ‘lost’ in an intermediates/advanced class.  We truly do want you to feel amazing – not frustrated!

Pilates sessions will be mat based using a variety of Pilates equipment to help strengthen the entire body whilst correcting postural imbalances.  Yoga classes are a mixture of Hatha, Vinyasa Flow and Yin yoga postures to open and strengthen the body whilst creating a sense of inner space & balance.  We’ll also have mind calming meditations and guided relaxations to take your body, mind & soul to a deep calm inner space.

There’ll also be two ‘Essentials’ workshops where we’ll cover the fundamentals of both yoga & Pilates to ensure everyone has a safe, strong foundation plus two ‘Intensive’ immersions for anyone who wants a little challenge.

Programme Overview 

Begin your day sipping a cup of herbal tea and enjoying some juicy fresh fruit whilst you slowly awaken before heading to your morning class of yoga or pilates.   Waiting for you after class will be our hearty buffet brunch served alfresco on the terrace by the pool.

Then, dependent on the day and how energised you feel, you can then choose to take part in one of our optional activities – see below – or relax by the pool before closing the day with a 2nd class of Yoga or Pilates before supper & chats.

Optional Activities:

After your morning class & brunch, depending on the day & your energy levels, you can spend your day:

  • relaxing by the pool or at the beach with a book you’ve been meaning to read all year!
  • pamper yourself with one of our gorgeous therapies *
  • join the 14k guided ‘coastal & country’ hike
  • get pedalling on a guided bike ride *
  • take part in the Aerial Yoga workshop *
  • explore the lovely little shops & tapas bars nearby in Altea old town
  • join us for a hike in the mountains *

Each day draws to a close with a late afternoon pilates or yoga session before we catch up with each over at supper. Activities marked with * are available from €35

Who is this holiday suited to?

Our Yoga & Pilates holidays are suited to anyone who has a little Yoga or Pilates experience and also those with a regular practice who want to develop and expand upon what they have been taught so far. If you’re traveling solo you’ll find this holiday is perfect for you as many of our guests come on their own and a friendly camaraderie soon develops between all Yoga & Pilates guests.

What’s included in your Yoga & Pilates Holidays?

Our 5 night/6 day Yoga & Pilates holidays include:

  • 5 nights in a 4-star country house hotel in a spacious ensuite twin or double room.   We don’t ask nor expect our guests to share – unless you bring a friend & want to share – so all solo travellers have their own room for a small supplement of £75 for the week
  • Daily 90 minute Pilates class
  • Daily 90 minute Yoga class
  • Meditation Workshop Sunday eve
  • Yoga & Pilates Essentials Workshops where we’ll go over the basics to ensure a safe practice
  • Yoga & Pilates Intensive immersions for those that like a little challenge
  • Guided 14k coast & country hike to get out into the sunshine & fresh air and help get your bearings on day one
  • Delicious buffet breakfast/brunch spread each day after morning class
  • Fresh & tasty vegetarian suppers at the hotel x3 eves with refreshment. On 2 eves your taste buds can explore the excellent local restaurants. On one of these evenings we will organise a group meal at a local restaurant, your attendance is not compulsory nor complimentary, but please join us if you fancy.

What’s not included?  Flights to Alicante, return airport transfers*, lunches (although guests tell us they are pretty full after our hearty brunch!), 2x dinners, additional drinks plus any optional activities as outlined above.

* Airport Transfers.  We offer a private group airport transfer service from/to Alicante. We aim to leave airport between 11-13.00 on arrival day & arrive back at airport on final day for midday. Transfers cost €40 each way.  Flights outside of our transfer times can be accommodated in a private taxi  or the local airport shuttle bus.
